There was a girl who's youthful smile
Betrayed her ancient soul
Her happiness, all the while
Was just a made-up role
There was a man, so cruel and vile
That he threw her out to sea
The gentle girl and her golden smile
Sank, without a plea
Her bright expression anchored her
To the ocean floor
Finally, the child
Could take the sea no more
She released the heavy smile
From her sullen face
And floated to the surface
Her pseudo smile displaced
